WHY DIDN’T YOU STOP ME
Produced, Edited, and Starring Darcy Hatcher
Created with Kaiber, Midjourney, p5.js, and an iPhone, Darcy explores the emerging visual technologies of AI. In a music video to the song Why Didn’t You Stop Me? by Mitski, Darcy skates, dances, and thrashes around as a digital fire consumes the scene. Uncanny blended AI Photos flash on the screen while the song sings, “I look for a picture of you...but I can’t seem to find one where you look how I remember.” By the end her and her surroundings are left gray, barren, and charred.
