Darcy Hatcher is a queer biracial photographer, director, multimedia artist, and occasional model/actress from Oakland, California. Based in Los Angeles, she studies Media Arts + Practice at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.Darcy understands the power of being behind the camera. Being the intersection of identities, she feels a responsibility to document her communities and push the envelope of media representation.
Through her bachelor’s program, hired work, and personal artistic practice Darcy continuously explores different media forms with a playful curiosity. She captured events on expired 1982 photo film from her grandparents and programmed a music video that utilizes the viewer’s webcam.
Combining her passions for performance, media, and music Darcy has captured concerts and music videos. As media director for three USC concert programming organizations, she has worked with artists such as Dominic Fike, Chappell Roan, 070 Shake, Jenevieve, and Toro y Moi.
